Description:

This project was for a new Measurement & Regulation (M&R) facility to be located in Rockland County, New York. Design capacity for this new facility, Ramapo was 350 mmcfd. The design consisted of (3) 12-in gas turbine meters, BVR’s for flow control, piping, overpressure protection and an odorant injection system. A metering building and permanent bridge to the site was also required. Also included in the design was a 24” pig launcher to pipeline 10338.

This project provided measurement and regulation for a gas flow of 350,000 mmcfd with a peak hourly rate of 20 mmcfh for deliveries from Algonquin Gas to Bowline Power Plant. The installation provided block valving that allows the gas to flow in the reverse direction from the Millennium Pipeline to Algonquin.

Regulation and piping were provided for overpressure protection of Line 10338 in preparation for the Millennium Pipeline

Pigging facilities were provided to allow for future pigging of pipeline 10338 and for a new section of 24” pipe from Buena Vista to Bowline. A 30”x24” launcher was designed for installation at Ramapo and a 30”x24” receiver was designed for installation at Bowline.

An odorant storage and injection system was purchased and installed for Line 10338 going east from Ramapo Station. Storage capacity is 6,000 gallons and the injection system contains mainline measuring equipment, an insertion flow meter and proportioning injection equipment. Walkways and platforms to service and maintain the equipment were also included.
