Description:

This 2004 project was to replace existing gas coolers at the Southern and Camden Compressor Stations. The project also included the installation of a new station by-pass, metering and regulating facility at the Southern Compressor Station. The new station by-pass facility allows South Carolina Pipeline to divert all natural gas to flow through the pipelines in lieu of the station, when the station is not in operation.

The installations of the new coolers at Southern and Camden stations were necessary because the existing coolers at both sites were at the end of their useful life and had become a reliability concern.

Augusta Engineering’s involvement included the responsibility for specifying all the major mechanical equipment including: coolers, regulation, ESD valves and a blowdown silencer. Augusta evaluated the stations compressor fuel system and also provided all the mechanical detail design drawings necessary to construct the new project. The drawings included: piping isometrics, piping plans and sections, equipment layouts and concrete drawings.
