Description:

Crawford Compressor Station is a multifunctional station of 56,000 HP and 15 compressor units. The station is located southeast of Columbus, Ohio.

The station operating modes were identified, as six primary modes and three secondary. Each mode of operation was documented by developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), narrative Detailed Sequence of Operations, Equipment Listings and emergency case (ESD) considerations for each mode. Combined these elements provide the basis for studying plant deficiencies, automation, overpressure protection deficiencies and developing gas operator training.

Interaction with station personnel and local supervision resulted in a request for operator training at the site. This training was developed utilizing the methodologies and documentation created for this project.
